Kris Wrede is a natural perfumer and aromatic alchemist devoted to the sensual and transformative power of botanical fragrance. For more than three decades, she has studied the ancient relationship between scent, ritual, emotion, and desire…creating perfumes that awaken beauty, memory, passion, and presence.
Inspired by the ancient meaning of perfume…per fumem, ‘through smoke’ her creations honor fragrance as both adornment and offering. Each blend is crafted from rare, ethically sourced essential oils gathered from regions including South Africa, Madagascar, Egypt, India, Morocco and more.
Known for her intuitive approach to scent, Kris creates exquisite botanical perfumes and bespoke love potions designed to reflect the essence and longing of the individual. Her work bridges ancient wisdom, natural perfumery, and the art of sensual living.
More than fragrance, her creations are ritual in liquid form.
The Journey
Kris Wrede’s study of aromatics began in 1990 and has evolved through decades of intensive research, formal training, and devotion to the art and science of botanical perfumery.
Her education includes certification in aromatherapy and teacher training through the Michael Scholes School of Aromatic Studies, advanced studies in essential oil chemistry through Purdue University’s International Training Program in Essential Oils, advanced clinical aromatherapy training with Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt through the Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy, and advanced natural perfumery studies with Master Perfumer Kathryn DeGraff.
Her research has extended throughout the United States and Europe, with continued study through conferences, seminars, and ongoing exploration of ancient aromatic traditions.
As an educator and featured speaker at aromatic and perfumery events nationwide, Kris shares a philosophy of fragrance as both medicine and ritual — a bridge between botanical wisdom, sensual experience, and meaningful connection to the natural world.
