CLARY SAGE (salvia scalrea)

Clary Sage is one of the ancient strewing herbs used to dispel evil spirits and ward off bacteria and plague. It was used by Hildegaard of Bingen in the 1100’s to help with feminine problems. Consequently, it is known for help during childbirth and for menstrual concerns. It is a great hair and skin tonic, used for all skin types and good for acne, oily and mature skin. It is used for depression, nervous tension, high blood pressure, headaches and stress. It is a middle note in perfumery and can be quite tenacious, so use with caution when blending. It blends well with chamomile, lavender, citruses, sandalwood and vetiver.
