Fir balsam Absolute Wild Harvest
Description
FIR BALSAM ABSOLUTE (abies balsamea)
There is widespread use of all fir oils in many industries for cosmetics and medicine. Native North Americans use the Canadian Balsam as a ritual purifier, for coughs, fever, colds and flu. This abies balsamea version is good for skin conditions such as burns, cuts, wounds or hemorrhoids. It is also very opening and centering and is similar to spruce and other needle oils that open up psychic pathways and the 3rd eye chakra. The Canadian Balsam is also a cicatrizant -an oil promoting healing by helping to form scar tissue. The other common fir oils are Silver Fir (abies alba) and Siberian Fir (abies sibirica), also excellent for use in respiratory disorders and for arthritis, muscle aches and pains and rheumatism. Silver Fir is native to Northern Europe and Siberian Fir native to Russia. CONTRA-INDICATIONS: Not for use on sensitive skin. Can also be photosensitive. Blends well with bergamot, lemon, lime, clary sage, eucalyptus, spruce, lavender, sandalwood, cedar wood, frankincense, vetiver, elemi and citronella.
