LAVENDER  (lavandula angustifolia) is the best known of all the essential oils and the biggest selling oil of all. This stellar oil comes wild harvested from the Kashmir region in India, also known for its harvesting of wool for cashmere, so it is in very good company! Lavender is a middle note, a beautiful soft flowering herb that always lends a beautiful softness to any fragrance. Most people think of Lavender as relaxing, however, the biggest benefit to lavender is the ability to balance. If you are too elevated or down too low...it brings you to that point of homeostasis.  It seems no medicine kit is complete without a bottle of lavender. It is called the “Swiss Army Knife” of essential oils. This is due to the number of conditions that lavender can assist with, along with being an oil that is safe to use on children, adults and the elderly alike. Lavender is particularly beneficial for all skin types and conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, scars, wounds, cuts, abrasions, bums and allergies. The calming and sedating properties of Lavender have been known for centuries and it has been used for stress, sleeping problems, headaches, exhaustion and manic depression, also respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, catarrh, colds and flu. The analgesic properties of lavender are beneficial to muscular aches and pains, rheumatic pain, cramps and spasms. Lavender also helps to stimulate the circulation, naturally this is enhanced if massage is involved as well, and helps to relieve edema and fluid retention. Uses: Blend with a body lotion and rub on heels, neck and shoulders to ease insomnia. Also add a few drops with Chamomile and Marjoram to a diffuser for pleasant dreams. Blends well with blood orange, clementine, tangerine, lemon, yuzu, clary sage, lavender, sandalwood, Peru balsam, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla, cardamom, cocoa bean, coffee, tuberose, rose, ylang ylang , petitgrain sur fleur and tuberose.
