YLANG YLANG EXTRA (canaga odorata) is an exotic scent that is reputed to aid in sensual awakenings and as an aphrodisiac. It is a deeply sensual heavy floral that can be at times overpowering...so using caution when blending with ylang ylang is required.  It is also said to stimulate release of endorphins which are known to produce euphoria and relieve pain. YIang yIang means "flower of flowers" and is used for precious perfume work. It has such a complete and round fragrance that it can be worn alone as a rich perfume oil. There are varying grades of ylang ylang from the distillation process. The first grade extra is considered suitable for use in aromatherapy and expensive perfumes. The other grades 1, 2, and 3 are also used for food flavoring and in cosmetics. Its calming actions help with high blood pressure, anxiety, PMS, insomnia, nerves and stress. Its emotionally uplifting qualities are good for depression, anger and fear. In cosmetic applications it is good for all skin types, but primarily for oily and problem skin. Uses: As a sensual bath for two, use a few drops in a massage oil or a diffuser. Blends well with blood orange, clementine, tangerine, lemon, yuzu, clary sage, lavender, sandalwood, cedar, Peru balsam, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, cocoa bean, coffee, rose, petitgrain sur fleur and floral absolutes.
