Zdravetz Wild Harvest Bulgaria

ZDRAVETZ (geranium macorrhizum) Grown primarily in Bulgaria, this rare flower is used in a special wedding ceremony ritual. The groom is said to lie down and sleep in a garden of zdravetz before the wedding night. In folklore this has undoubtedly contributed to the use of zdravetz as a tonic for promoting male sex drive, and said to be best used between the shoulder blades, an unexpected and sometimes forgotten place, yet daringly provocative. It is a fixative in perfumery and is employed in oriental type perfumes. It is one of the most complicated yet mellow oils, giving off undertones of woods, musk, spice and rich fruit such as currant. This intriguing start then goes into a fibril layer that mixes in with richness similar to oak moss, vetiver and patchouli. It is reputed to be incredible for diabetes as it helps lower blood sugar. It is not related to the geranium/pelargonium family.  Blends well with all citrus like blood orange, clementine, tangerine, lemon and black pepper, rose geranium, geranium, clary sage, lavender, sandalwood, Peru balsam, neroli, petitgrain, cinnamon, oak moss, patchouli, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla, cardamom, cocoa bean, coffee, ylang ylang, tuberose and all floral absolutes.
